Blender Project 1
The first project I had worked on this year was with blender, which is a big program for game design, was working with the sculpt tool and just learning the basics of it. In my project I subdivided a cube and then I smoothed the vertices to round the shape quite a bit. I then subdivided the cube till I was almost crashing my computer and smoothed the object some more. I mostly wanted to see the potential of the sculpting tool. I may not be the best with it but it is fairly accurate I just wish they had other tools within the sculpt tool setting such as a wedge to drive a triangular shape into it or a square shaped hole. Some way to have basically varying chisels. I hope that I can learn more about blender to eventually be able to make complex shapes and structure to make them look as realistic as possible. I still have much to learn about blender at this point. I have merely scratched the surface of the potential of blender.
Blender Project 2
Here is my second blender project i wanted to experiment with coloring, and the first thing that came to my mind was the game Simon. To make Simon I started with a torus to get the outer shape. after that I needed to divide the segments of the torus, for this I used a cylinder and extruded the sides to make the sections. I then cut a circle into a quarter of itself. I copied the quarter three more times and then I colored each of the sides their respective color. After the spaces where colored I colored the middle and the outside black since most Simon's are black. I then added the name Simon onto the face to it. after it was done I topped it off with a hemisphere lighting to just make it stand out a bit more. for things I could have done better is knowing that to edit text I have to be in edit mode so that was aggravating for a while.
